Step through the sliding glass door and onto the sand. Whales Watch is a 1-bedroom, 1000 sq. ft. oceanfront duplex perched at the furthest point of Heceta Beach, with unobstructed views spanning the Siuslaw River Jetty to Heceta Head Lighthouse. Watch whales breach 🐋, eagles soar 🦅, and sea lions play from your private patio. If it were any closer to the waves, you'd need a wetsuit.
Inside, the spacious king bedroom features Mediterranean Oak furniture, an electric fireplace 🔥, a sitting area, and private access to the bathroom. The open-concept living space combines the kitchen, dining area, and lounge, each facing the beach through large windows. Overstuffed slipcovered seating, a blend of rattan and antiques, and global accents create a relaxed, collected feel. The loveseat converts to a twin sleeper for a third guest.
The kitchen is fully stocked with thoughtful extras 🍷: wine glasses, bread maker, crock pot, turkey roaster, dishwasher, and more. At the dining table for four or the two-person bar, every meal comes with a front-row seat to the sea.
In the living area, a tuned 1902 Bush & Gertz Cabinet Grand upright piano 🎹 stands ready to be played, surrounded by original oil paintings collected from the owner's world travels. Whether you're enjoying sunset melodies or morning wildlife sightings, Whales Watch offers a soulful, one-of-a-kind coastal experience.

About the Owner
We have lived here at Heceta Beach since 1994. Our house Whales Watch is a duplex, we live in half and the other half is our vacation rental. We enjoy sharing with others what we get to enjoy every day. My husband was from Milwaukee Wisconsin, via Texas & Alaska. And I was originally from Northern CA, Seoul, Korea then Southern California, Ashland, OR & Portland before landing in Florence. We fell in love with the small town atmosphere, and the temperate climate. It may be rainy, but you don't have to shovel rain, and the Ocean Breezes keep it an even 70 in the summer.Location
